The Ashley stories, the author's classic children's tales that have chidren chanting: Ashley was not just any cat; Ashley was Ashley and that was that.
For Ashley was born a Persian you see, and to him that was the same as cat royalty.
That signature quatrain runs through all nine of the Ashley stories. The stories include Ashley and Cat Bad, Ashley and Shadow, Ashley and Midnight and Ashley, the Finicky Cat, all of which have been included in The Ashley Stories published in electronic format by ebooksonthe.net. which will also be releasing an expanded edition of Mill Girls and Their Daughters.
The Ashley stories were written to provide a fun vehicle for young people to find creative solutions and thus address problems such as bullies, sibling rivalry, individual differences, self esteem, disabilities and family relationships. The main character, a most ordinarily regal, if not imperial, Persian is lovable and readily identifiable as everyone's cat. The stories have been written to be equally enjoyed by parents, teachers, counselors and children. The stories do not dictate solutions, but rather, present ideas that are meant to stimulate discussion of the problems of early childhood. The impetus for the stories because was a lack of suitable material and a desire to respect animals by presenting them as they are so that readers would understand that we as humans share and have much to learn not just from one another, but from all living things. The stories were much appreciated by the author's children. They and their friends have grown up with these stories. The stories have also been successfully used with elementary students. The stories will soon be available for other families, mothers, fathers, children and the important adults in their lives as well.
The author has also penned, Pet Angels, a collection of short stories about domesticated animals and their human companions. The ebook is also expected to be released in time for Christmas giving - along with a box of soft tissues. Some of the animals described are angels, but at least one succumbs to the dark side of the emotions that all beings - human or otherwise - share.
The Boy Who Knew and other stories presents tales of the paranormal and unexplained from the persepctive of the children who experienced them. The stories are all true. As with the Ashley stories, they have been written to be shared. Of course, parents reading them with their children, may learn that the experiences are not unique to the young people in the stories. The Boy Who Knew has been published as an ebook by E-dition.net, publisher of the Book of Trees series, Prayers for the Temple Within, Haunted House Diary, Grandma's Book of Recipes and Helpful Hints and the interactive The Star of Peace and Play Justice.
What Does a Tick Sound Like and other stories depict real children with physical and emotional challenges. On The Eve of Armageddon is a suspense filled novel that addresses genetic mutation and other social issues that can create terrorism within ourselves and our lives. What happens, when good and evil merge? With elements of the paranormal and the ultimate spiritual war between good and evil, this novel also addresses such traditional concerns as familial values, sex, drugs, crime, etc. This story which personalizes the ultimate battle not as between nations or continents, but rather, as within each individual, promises to be a cliff hanger. Even the author does not yet know how it will end.
